Make 2019 Count-Your Best Resolutions Yet!
How many of us have made our 2019 home organization resolutions? I think most of us think about them. And some of us write them down. We all want our future brighter and more joyful each year. Right? Make 2019 Count-Your Best Resolutions Yet!
I like to think about resolutions as visions or dreams. What is your vision for the next year? Or even in the next few months. Part of making your vision a reality is to start fantasizing about it. Yes, fantasizing. I know that word is sassy. And that is the point. Taking our fantasies and making what we can of them a reality is “happiness”.
So now’s the perfect time to start fantasizing about your home for the next year! What will it look like? How will your home help bring you “happiness” and true comfort? What can Make 2019 Count-Your Best Resolutions Yet?
Ultimately, we can admit that fantasies can be called resolutions of our intentions. They’re really important. As a matter of fact, they can make or break our direction, our path, and our happiness.
I want to challenge you to put your 2019 home organization resolutions at the top of your list. Now is a perfect time plan to clear clutter and organize your home. To reboot and build that home you dream of. To Make 2019 Count-Your Best Resolutions Yet.
I’m not talking about a castle or a perfectly staged home from Better Homes and Gardens. And we see a lot of those on social media. That is not reality. Nor should it be. I am talking about the home you live in now. How can you reboot and transform it without buying a lot of new stuff?
I wrote an awesome post on creating a mindset to help successfully clear clutter and keep your home organized. Creating a strong mindset is key to accomplishing anything important to us. Home organization starts from the inside out! It’s key when you want to Make 2019 Count-Your Best Resolutions Yet.
Make 2019 Count-Your Best Resolutions Yet
Rather than lecture you on what your 2019 home organization resolutions are, I decided to create a list of compelling questions for you to ask yourself. These will help you create your own personal new year’s home organization resolutions. Not ones that are simply handed to you.
Q & A Time! Make 2019 Count-Your Best Resolutions Yet
Let’s ponder the following questions. I love journaling so go grab a pad of paper or your journal and start answering the following questions:
- What are your home organizing dreams? What is your vision of an organized home? If you can, have fun with this and draw a picture!
- How do you want to make your home more productive? How do you want to get more done and still feel relaxed and refreshed? List the top three priorities.
- Where do you spend most of your precious time? Why? How can these spaces better serve your needs and help you be more productive?
Now, how can we make this a reality? What is holding you back? What one change would make it easier to make these 3 things happen?
There is merit in discussing how our space serves us….or in other words, what we want from each room? For example, the bedroom should be a peaceful sanctuary where we make complete relaxation and satisfying healthy sleep. How can we re-organize to make this happen?

We Need to Find our own Personal Style
What is your personal home decor style? I love a bit of a simple French contemporary style with a layering of plants. Plants promote both my and my family’s overall well-being… They clean the air and give a beautiful atheistic. This style also creates warmth in our space that feels comfortable and like we are outdoors. Since we live in the Midwest where the weather is a bit frigid for 4 months of the year, plants are a wonderful way to develop that feeling of being close to nature. What are your ideas, or how do you want to feel in your home and in each room?
Do you prefer minimalism, or plenty of things incomplete order? Organized spaces not only serve our needs and make us productive but make us feel valued and confident. More relaxed. These two things-our needs and productivity are key. Now it’s time for another series of questions.
What kind of plans will help you clear your clutter and organize the most?
- Simple room by room checklists
- Simple Meal Plans-with 3 to 4 ingredients to make it super easy
- Routines-waking and evening checklists to help you set your intentions for the day
- Top 3 for the day! What are your top three to make today?
- Daily decluttering routines? This is key to keeping organized.
- Major decluttering courses or eBooks?
The good news is, I have all of these available for daily use. What is coming in March is big! I am launching my One Room a Month Home Organization Reboot. This reboot will last from March to June, then resume in September through December. Sign up for this free reboot here. We will start with the kitchen and then move to the bedrooms.
